About the Academy
Expressions Academy of Performing Arts was established in 2003, following the success of its founding school, The Children’s Performing Arts School, in 1989. The academy’s patrons are actress, singer and TV-star Samantha Womack (Nee Janus) and Ben Richards. Our philosophy is to provide first-class training in the performing arts in a supportive and state-of-the-art environment. Our experts provide unparalleled attention through small groups and individual tuition, producing well-rounded, sough-after professionals. This is further reinforced by our sister casting agency that offers short-term work contracts that give our students invaluable experience. The same casting agency will subsequently work to promote academy graduates in their chosen field by arranging auditions with industry professionals. The quality of the eventual destinations of our students is testimony to the reputation of the academy and the calibre of its students.

The academy has an informal and friendly ethos that is designed to get the very best out of our students. Staff are supportive and friendly ensuring that your time at the academy will be both enjoyable and rewarding. We take the progress of our students personally and help not only with technical matters but also health and well-being, providing classes on issues such as nutrition and keeping your body fit and healthy.

Facilitating Success
The academy boasts five large studios set in a spacious and contemporary building. The facility is easy to navigate with the studios from all disciplines housed under one roof. Other facilities include a library with audio and visual materials, sheet music, reference books and journals as well as audio and visual equipment. An IT room hosts computers with internet access provided free of charge.

Studios feature Canadian maple-sprung floors, mirrors and full sound systems, as well as being fully air conditioned and heated. All together, the studio space equates to a massive 13,500 square feet, meaning there’s plenty of room to express yourself!

Location
The academy can be found just outside the centre of Mansfield, approximately five minutes walk from the amenities of the town. The Academy is within easy reach by train or bus and both stations are a five minute walk away. The train has a regular service to Nottingham which acts as a hub to many more destinations. Alternatively, the academy has its own private car park on site, for students who prefer to drive.
